Actor Shilpa Shetty's spouse and entrepreneur Raj Kundra has been involved in legal disputes since 2019, following allegations of his involvement in the production and distribution of pornographic material. Recently, he has commented on the situation, expressing his confusion regarding the involvement of his family in these matters.

Raj Kundra breaks his silence

In a recent interview, Raj discussed various facets of his life and ongoing legal matters. When addressing his decision to remain silent about the allegations publicly until now, he remarked that "silence is bliss."

However, he emphasized the importance of speaking out when family is involved. "When I remain silent, people assume I am concealing something. It is crucial for people to understand the truth. Shilpa Shetty has built an impressive reputation through her hard work. It is unjust that the controversy surrounding me also implicates her. Is it merely for clickbait? This tarnishes her reputation for the sake of her views. She is not involved in this matter, so why drag her into it simply because I am her husband?" he stated.

The businessman expressed his confusion regarding why his family is being drawn into his legal issues.

Raj continued, "I have been a prominent figure for 15 years, transitioning from an IPL team owner to a businessman with numerous investments in India. I believe I am well-known. It is inappropriate to damage someone's reputation in this manner. You may say anything about me but do not unnecessarily involve my family. My wife has been incredibly supportive; she understands my capabilities and limitations. My entire family has stood by me."

During the interview, Raj also refuted any claims of his involvement in the production of pornographic material, describing the allegations as deeply hurtful. He concluded by expressing his complete confidence in the judicial system.

All about the case

In 2019, Raj Kundra was taken into custody on allegations of producing pornographic material and distributing it via mobile applications, including Hotshots. In 2022, the Enforcement Directorate initiated a money laundering investigation against him concerning these allegations. Since his arrest, he has consistently refuted the charges. Additionally, he is being investigated for another money laundering case associated with Bitcoin fraud.
