Ajay Devgn is poised to reprise his role as an income tax officer in the upcoming film Raid 2. The trailer for the movie was unveiled earlier today in Mumbai. In this sequel, Ajay returns as the intrepid officer Amay Patnaik, while Riteish Deshmukh portrays a formidable and corrupt politician, setting the stage for a confrontation between two powerful characters.

During the launch event, Ajay faced an unusual question regarding what he would do if a raid occurred at the residences of Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan. The inquiry caught him off guard, but his swift response elicited laughter from the audience.

"I portray an officer in the film. I won't be conducting real raids at their homes, so I can't say what I would need to handle. If a raid were to happen at their places, I would simply be at my own home, and the same goes for them. Therefore, I can't really manage anything," the actor remarked.

In the trailer, Ajay reprises his role as Amay Patnaik, a principled IRS officer unafraid to confront the affluent and influential. He is seen preparing for his 75th raid, which promises to be more significant and intense than previous ones. His objective is to dismantle a shrewd and corrupt politician, Dadabhai, portrayed by Riteish. The trailer hints at a dramatic confrontation as Ajay's character devises a 'chakravyuh,' drawing inspiration from the Mahabharata. At one point, he boldly declares to Dadabhai, "Main poori Mahabharat la raha hu" (I am bringing the entire Mahabharata), suggesting a complex strategy to outmaneuver Riteish's character. Additionally, Vaani Kapoor appears as the romantic lead, infusing the narrative with her vibrant charm. Saurabh Shukla also returns in the 2018 film Raid, which has generated excitement among fans.

About Raid 2

Regarding Raid 2, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film is scheduled for theatrical release on May 1. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. Raid 2 serves as a sequel to Ajay's original Raid, set in 1981, which depicts the story of an income tax officer in Lucknow who confronts the corrupt elite to assist the underprivileged.
