Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi recently attracted attention when a video surfaced on social media showing her slapping a man during an event. The now-deleted video was shared on an Instagram page and depicted her striking a man at a club for reasons that remain unclear. In an interview with Times of India, the actress provided insight into the incident.

Ragini explained that she reacted by slapping the man after he forcefully pulled her hand while she was taking pictures with fans. She stated, “I was accommodating picture requests when this man unexpectedly yanked my hand. My immediate reaction was to deliver a firm slap. As a woman, I felt it was necessary to defend myself.”

She further noted that there have been numerous instances of fans behaving inappropriately, emphasizing that this issue affects both female and male actors. Ragini expressed no remorse for her actions, stating that the man was promptly removed from the venue, and added, “If given the chance, I would have slapped him twice more. Individuals like that need to learn a lesson.”

Ragini also expressed concern over the alarming tendency of some individuals to inflict harm on others, highlighting the prevalence of violent and sadistic behavior for the sake of attention. The incident occurred while she was at a Bengaluru club promoting a new song and engaging with fans.

Recent work

In terms of her recent projects, Ragini appeared in the Tamil film E-mail and the Sanskrit film Sloka in 2024. This year, she made a cameo in the Kannada film Sanju Weds Geetha 2 and is set to feature in the upcoming Mohanlal film Vrushabha and Sorry – Karma Returns. Since her debut in 2009, Ragini has primarily worked in Kannada cinema, with a few roles in Malayalam and Tamil films.
