Ram Gopal Varma addresses his comments on Rajinikanth's reliance on "slow motion"
Director Ram Gopal Varma is set to release the film Saaree, for which he has penned the screenplay. The film is scheduled to debut on April 4. In the lead-up to its release, the director has been actively promoting the project. During one of these promotional events, he was questioned about his earlier comment regarding Rajinikanth's supposed dependence on "slow motion."

I discussed the impact of technological advancements on an actor's rise to fame. I provided two examples, starting with Charlie Chaplin, who worked with a 18-frame camera rather than a 24-frame one. I suggested that had Chaplin been introduced to the 24-frame camera, he might not have achieved stardom. Can you envision his performances at normal speed? In a similar vein, no one can execute slow-motion shots quite like Rajinikanth. While he is undoubtedly a talented actor with a diverse body of work, I believe that without the slow-motion camera, he may not have attained the status of a superstar.
‘Amitabh Bachchan also works in realistic space’

The director also discussed Amitabh Bachchan, stating, “My films often focus on relatable themes. I do not seek to collaborate with stars solely for commercial or formulaic purposes. I chose to work with Amitabh Bachchan because he operates within a very authentic realm. My main objective is to create psychological thrillers and character-driven films.”
Ram Gopal Varma has collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan in the films Aag and Nishabd.
