Actor R Madhavan recently shared how he got tricked by an AI-generated video of football star Cristiano Ronaldo and cricketer Virat Kohli. In a chat with Zee TV ME, he mentioned that he only figured out he’d been fooled after Anushka Sharma reached out to him about it.

Madhavan got hooked on AI video

Madhavan shared a story about getting scammed in real life. He mentioned that he once came across a video where Cristiano seemed to be praising Virat, and he thought it was genuine. He recalled, “Yeah, I saw this Reel where someone was just raving about Virat Kohli. I think it was Ronaldo talking about how much he loved watching Kohli play and calling him a legend. I was so excited that I shared it on Instagram, but then Anushka messaged me saying, ‘Dude, it’s fake, it’s AI.’”

He admitted feeling pretty embarrassed but learned a valuable lesson about being cautious with what he shares. He said, “It’s super embarrassing, like, wow! Even someone like me, who thinks he’s pretty savvy, got totally fooled. When she pointed out the mistakes, I was like, oh man, this is a big deal. So, it’s important to make sure that what you’re sharing is legit.”

Latest projects

In 2024, Madhavan took on the role of the villain in the horror flick Shaitaan alongside Ajay Devgn and Jyotika. His latest project is the Zee5 movie Hisaab Barabar, which dives into the world of bank scams. Madhavan has a bunch of films coming up in both Tamil and Hindi. In Tamil, he’s set to appear in Adhirshtasaali and Test. On the Hindi side, he’ll be featured in Amriki Pandit, De De Pyaar De 2, Kesari Chapter 2, and Dhurandhar.
