Actor R Madhavan has recently become the subject of misunderstandings on social media, where some individuals have mistakenly believed that he is engaging in flirtatious exchanges with young women or reacting to kiss emojis. In response, the actor has taken the initiative to clarify the situation and dispel these misconceptions.

What did Madhavan say?

R Madhavan addressed the excessive scrutiny prevalent on social media during the launch of the app, Parent Geenee Inc, in Chennai. He has taken on the role of an investor and strategic partner in India's location-based parental control application.

During his remarks, Madhavan shared the challenges he encounters while engaging with social media platforms. A video capturing his comments has surfaced on Reddit.

He stated, “This app will enable parents to monitor their children's social media usage. For instance, as an actor, I receive numerous messages on Instagram and other social media. A particular young girl reached out to me, expressing her admiration for my work in a film, saying, ‘I loved it. I think you're a fabulous actor, well done. You motivate me... She concluded her message with an abundance of hearts, kisses, and love symbols.”

Madhavan continued, “When a fan communicates with me in such a heartfelt manner, I feel obliged to respond. I typically express my gratitude, saying thank you and that it is very kind of her, wishing her well. However, she then takes a screenshot of my response and shares it as a post on Instagram. What do others see? Just hearts, kisses, and love symbols, along with the fact that Maddy has replied. My intention was solely to acknowledge her message, but the context is lost. People might interpret it as if I am engaging in conversations with young girls. If I, with my experience, feel the need to tread carefully with my social media interactions, one can only imagine the difficulties faced by those less experienced.”

Madhavan was most recently featured in Hisaab Barabar, a film that delves into the subject of bank scams. He has a variety of upcoming projects in both Tamil and Hindi cinema. In Tamil, audiences can anticipate his performances in Adhirshtasaali and Test. In the Hindi film industry, he is set to appear in Amriki Pandit, De De Pyaar De 2, Kesari Chapter 2, and Dhurandhar.
