Pushpa Fever Hits NBA: Allu Arjun & Rashmika’s Peelings Shines at Halftime Show

The team behind Pushpa 2: The Rule appears to be realizing their vision of global reach for the film. The song "Peelings" from the Sukumar-directed movie, featuring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, was showcased during the NBA halftime show in the United States on Wednesday, and a video of this performance is currently circulating on social media.

A fan of Allu Arjun shared a clip from the halftime event on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Tribute to Icon star @alluarjun & #Pushpa2 at the Houston Rockets vs. Milwaukee Bucks game halftime stage at @NBA. A proud moment showcasing Indian cinema and culture on a global platform.” The video features dancers clad in blue and gold executing a routine to the popular track composed by Devi Sri Prasad, concluding their performance with Pushpa Raj’s signature phrase ‘thaggede le.’
This is not the inaugural instance of a Telugu song being performed during NBA halftime shows. Last April, "Kurchi Madathapetti" from Trivikram Srinivas’ Guntur Kaaram, starring Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela, was also featured. This song, which gained significant popularity, was composed by Thaman S.

Pushpa 2: The Rule, which includes performances by Fahadh Faasil, Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Jagapathi Babu, premiered in theaters in December of the previous year, amassing over ₹1871 crore in gross revenue worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film in India. As a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, the film concluded with a cliffhanger, paving the way for Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
While Allu Arjun has not yet disclosed his forthcoming projects, he has committed to films directed by Trivikram Srinivas and Koratala Siva. Rashmika Mandanna was last seen in Chhaava alongside Vicky Kaushal, which debuted in theaters on February 14 and has reportedly surpassed ₹558 crore in global gross, according to Sacnilk. She is also set to appear in upcoming films such as Sikandar, Kubera, The Girlfriend, and Thama.
