Sukumar, the director of Pushpa 2: The Rule, recently checked out Shankar’s Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. During a promotional event in Dallas, US, on Saturday, he praised Ram's performance, expressing his hope that the actor will snag a National Award for it.

Sukumar takes a look at Game Changer

Sukumar shared at the event that he had the chance to watch the film alongside Ram’s dad, the legendary actor Chiranjeevi. He expressed his excitement, saying, “Here’s a little secret. I saw Game Changer with Chiranjeevi sir. I want to be the first to review it. The first half? Absolutely amazing. The interval? Total blockbuster. Seriously. The second half, especially the flashback scene, gave me chills—it was phenomenal. I loved it just as much as Shankar’s Gentleman and Bharateeyudu (Indian).”

The director also mentioned that he had high hopes for Ram to snag a National Award for his role in Rangasthalam. Even though that didn’t pan out, he’s optimistic that this film will make that dream a reality. “I was convinced Charan would win a National Award for Rangasthalam, and so did many others. But after seeing how he portrayed emotions in the climax, I felt that spark again. He nailed it, and I truly believe he’ll get a National Award for this one,” he added.

Future tasks ahead

Sukumar just wrapped up directing Pushpa 2: The Rule, featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in the main roles. The movie did really well at the box office, but Allu Arjun has found himself in some legal trouble since its release. At the film's premiere on December 4, a chaotic situation led to a woman's death and a young boy being hospitalized. The police and the Telangana government pointed fingers at Arjun, resulting in his arrest, though he was later released on interim bail.

Looking ahead, Sukumar's next project will have Charan as the lead, marking their second collaboration after Rangasthalam. During the event, Sukumar shared, “I appreciate every hero I work with since we spend about three years together. But once the film is out, I usually lose touch with most of them. Charan is the exception; we’ve kept in contact since Rangasthalam. He’s like a brother to me, and I care for him deeply. We often catch up and chat about various topics.”
