In a funny mix-up, the Cinepolis Centre Square Mall theater in Kochi screened the second half of Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule without showing the first half featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. According to Indian Express, since we’re in an era of non-linear storytelling, some viewers initially cut the theater some slack before they figured out the blunder.
Pushpa 2: The Rule's second half was shown first.
The article mentions that during the 6:30 pm show on Friday, the audience was left disappointed when the end credits started rolling at the film's ‘interval’ point. It turned out they had watched the second half of the 3-hour and 20-minute movie instead of the beginning. Some viewers were so frustrated that they asked for refunds, while others wanted to see the first half of the film.
In response to the complaints, Cinepolis management decided to screen the first half at 9 pm for the 10 people who stuck around. They also promised to give refunds to the audience. One viewer humorously pointed out to the publication, “With all these non-linear narrative films, a first-time viewer might not even know if the Pushpa 2 scenes are in the right order after sitting through the movie until the intermission.”
