Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's Pushpa 2 is all set to hit the screens on December 5, 2024, in a record 12,000 screens worldwide. The bookings for the film have already opened in the US, and sales have crossed the $2 million mark. With only a few days left before the release, this number is expected to rise further.

Pushpa 2 tickets are being sold for a bomb

Back in India, the advance bookings have begun in most regions, and all eyes are now on Andhra Pradesh, where the government is yet to decide on ticket rates. In Telangana, the ticket rates have been set at ₹350 for single screens and ₹470 for multiplexes. Several multiplexes are planning to screen the film a day in advance through special night shows, with tickets priced at ₹1200.

Since this news broke, fans have expressed concerns over the high ticket prices. They believe the cost is too high for the common man to watch the film. Several messages are being posted on social media over the hike. A few industry insiders are also not happy with the hike as this would spoil the culture for other biggies in the days to come.

Fans troll makers over Pushpa 2 ticket rates

However, the makers are not backing down. With Pushpa 2 being made on a massive budget, they argue that higher ticket rates are necessary to recover the investment. We at OTTplay have also reported that Pushpa 2 needs to earn ₹1000 crore to be considered in the safe zone, and to reach that target, ticket prices need to remain high.

In the coming days, we will see what kind of hike allowance the TDP government grants for Pushpa 2 in Andhra Pradesh, where there are more theaters than in Telangana. Directed by Sukumar, the film will also be released in Hindi. Bookings are already on fire, with Mumbai expected to have a massive opening despite the higher prices. The makers are targeting over ₹50 crore in collections on day one, just from the Hindi version alone.

The film’s promotions have reached their peak, with a grand pre-release event scheduled in Hyderabad on December 1, 2024. Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil will be seen in key roles, and the music is by DSP.
