It was nothing short of a spectacle as Tollywood’s big shots, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Srikant Mohta, Parambrata Chatterjee, Anik Dutta, Arindam Sil, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Saswata Chatterjee, and others, gather to at the launch gala of Fridaay – a brand new OTT platform by Camellia Productions. The stakeholders of the Bengali entertainment industry, which has been witnessing an unprecedented clash between the technicians and directors over the Federation’s suspension order on Rahool Mukherjee, sent out a message of unity.

Prosenjit pointed out that at a time when the industry is suffering from a fund crunch and lack of work, Fridaay comes with a lot of promises. Directors, actors, and other stakeholders thanked and congratulated Nil Ratan Dutta of Camellia Productions for his effort. 

In a dazzling event at ITC Sonar, on Saturday evening, attended by the city’s who’s who, 28 breathtaking shows were announced, of which seven shows – Unishe April directed by Arindam Sil, Necro directed by Deep Modak, Potash by Koushik Kar, Ami Nandini by Arindam Chakraborty, Lady Chatterjee by Sagnik Chatterjee Bhalobasha by Abu Hayat Mamud, and Night of Crime by Kamaleswar Mukherjee – are already streaming on the Fridaay app. Around 21 shows are in the pipeline for Season 1. 

Notable directors including Srijit Mukherji, Arindam Sil, Kamaleshwar Mukherjee, Joydeep Mukherjee, Debaloy Bhattacharya, and Abhrajit Sen amongst others have been roped in for this particular season.

Singer, songwriter, and director Anindya Chattopadhyay who composed the theme music of Fridaay performed live at the event.
