Ram Charan and Kiara Advani's film Game Changer has been in theatres for less than a week, yet it has already succumbed to piracy. Reports indicate that a pirated version of this political thriller was broadcast on a local channel, with screenshots of the incident circulating on the internet. Producer Sreenivas Kumar, known as SKN, has expressed his strong disapproval of this leak and has called for stringent measures to address the issue.

Game Changed aired on TV?

On Wednesday evening, SKN utilized his X account to share a post featuring a user who had uploaded an image of Game Changer being broadcast on local cable channels and displayed on buses.

In his caption, he stated: “This situation is intolerable. A film that premiered merely 4-5 days ago is being broadcast on local cable channels and buses, which raises significant issues. Cinema encompasses more than just the hero, director, or producers; it represents the culmination of 3-4 years of effort, commitment, and the aspirations of countless individuals.”

‘Let’s all unite and stand firm’

He remarked that one should consider the repercussions for distributors and exhibitors whose financial stability relies on the success of these films. Such actions jeopardize their efforts and pose a threat to the future of the film industry. It is imperative for esteemed governments to take decisive measures to put an end to this situation. We must all come together and stand resolute in our commitment to safeguard and promote a brighter future for cinema. He concluded the statement with the hashtag Save the Cinema.

Game Changer premiered in theatres on January 10. This political thriller has garnered mixed to positive reviews, achieving a robust opening at the box office before experiencing a decline. It has surpassed ₹100 crores in India to date. An HD version of the film was leaked online, with significant plot details surfacing even prior to its release. Producer Dil Raju has lodged a complaint with the cyber police against the individuals who allegedly attempted to extort money before the leak occurred.
