Actor Priyanka Chopra has emerged as a global icon, but her journey began with the 2002 Tamil film Thamizhan, where she made her debut as a newcomer. In this film, she starred alongside the well-established actor Vijay, marking her only appearance in a Tamil film to date. This experience was significant for Priyanka, as her mother, Madhu Chopra, recently shared in an interview.

Both Vijay and Priyanka Chopra have become prominent figures in the entertainment industry, each forging their own paths to success. However, it was in 2002 that they appeared together in the Tamil action drama Thamizhan, directed by the then debutant Majith.

At the time, Vijay was already a recognized star, while Priyanka was just starting her career. In a recent podcast with PinkVilla, her mother expressed, “He is such a wonderful person. Initially, we felt intimidated having a young child like her act alongside a major star like him. However, he was incredibly kind and acted as her mentor, helping her build her confidence. He is an exceptional dancer, and despite the challenging choreography, we were well taken care of. Those were truly good old days.”
