Prithviraj Sukumaran has been actively engaged in promoting his eagerly awaited directorial venture, L2: Empuraan, which premiered in theaters on March 27. Additionally, the actor has recently confirmed his participation in SS Rajamouli's SSMB 29, disclosing that he has been involved with the project for more than a year. This film features Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in leading roles. While promoting L2: Empuraan, Prithviraj expressed his admiration for Priyanka, referring to her as an exceptional actor.

Prithviraj on Priyanka's performance in Barfi!

Prithviraj engaged in a discussion with Instant Bollywood, during which he expressed his thoughts on Priyanka as an actress. When prompted to identify his favorite film featuring her, Prithviraj remarked, “Barfi! It stands out as one of the most exceptional performances by any lead actor, regardless of gender, in Indian cinema over the last 25 years.”

'She did a mind-blowing job'

He further emphasized that Priyanka Chopra had the more challenging role in the film and warranted greater recognition. “While I acknowledge that Ranbir’s performance was outstanding, I believe Priyanka’s portrayal did not receive as much attention as his. The character Priyanka played in Barfi required a delicate balance; even a slight misstep could have led to failure. However, she delivered an extraordinary performance,” he remarked.

Barfi!, directed by Anurah Basu, premiered in 2012 and garnered critical acclaim, achieving significant box office success. Priyanka's portrayal of an autistic character named Jhilmil was particularly praised, with many considering it the pinnacle of her career.

In other news, numerous images and videos showcasing the impressive set of SSMB 29 emerged online earlier this month. The visuals featured Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Rajamouli interacting with the residents of Koraput. In one image, Priyanka is captured signing a note that expresses, "Dear Koraput, thank you for the warm hospitality. I look forward to many more adventures. With love from the sets of SSMB-29." The production team has yet to officially announce the film's cast.
