Priyanka described Anuja's nomination for the Oscars as an extraordinary achievement, stating, “Anuja's nomination for an Oscar in the Best Live Action Short Film category represents an incredible moment. This film serves as a poignant reminder of the impact of storytelling—illuminating themes of love, family, and resilience in a profoundly authentic manner.” She expressed her pride in the director and her emotional response to the performances of Sajda Pathan and Ananya Shanbhag, remarking, “It is a privilege for me to be part of this journey alongside our remarkable partners—Suchitra Mattai Studio, Mindy Kaling, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Shine Global.”

Anuja is supported by a team of producers that includes Suchitra, Mindy, Guneet, Krushan Naik, Aaron Kopp, Devananda Graves, Michael Graves, Ksheetij Saini, and Alexandra Blaney. Priyanka and Anita Bhatia serve as executive producers, while Archana Jain, Susan MacLaury, and Albie Hecht hold the title of co-executive producers. The film delves into Mira Nair’s Salaam Baalak Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering street and working children, featuring lead actor Sajda, who is a beneficiary of the trust.
