Adil, a 30-year-old 'ponywallah', was interred at the family graveyard in his Hapatnard village in Pahalgam, with hundreds of mourners saying a tearful farewell and honoring his sacrifice, according to PTI. Syed Naushad, Shah's younger brother, stated that he had gone to Pahalgam for work. "He would take tourists on pony rides to Baisaran. On Tuesday when terrorists attacked tourists, my brother attempted to stop them. A tourist whose father was killed in the assault informed me of my brother's heroic action at SMHS hospital," he mentioned, adding that the terrorists shot Shah three times in the chest. He described his brother's sacrifice as a "proud moment" for family and friends but noted, "there is also sadness everywhere. "

Shah's father, Syed Haider Shah, expressed his devastation over his son's death. "He was the youngest and kindest among all the siblings. He left at 8 in the morning and didn’t return. Many boys from this village travel to Pahalgam to seek work, but who could have predicted this would happen? The terrorists killed my son simply because he confronted them and urged them not to harm tourists," the heartbroken father stated.

As per a report in HT, Shah's family learned of his death on Tuesday. His body arrived in Hapatnagar village on Wednesday, and hundreds of local villagers attended his burial service. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was also present at the funeral and remarked, "Shah was trying to protect the tourists when he was killed. He sacrificed his life in an attempt to save the lives of tourists. " Shah is survived by his wife, parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Priyanka's lengthy note denouncing the Pahalgam attack

On Wednesday, she took to her Instagram account to share a heartfelt note condemning the assault. She stated, "What occurred in Pahalgam is condemnable. People were there on vacations, honeymoons, celebrating with their families. Just enjoying the beauty of Kashmir. So many innocent lives were caught in a storm they never sought. Targeted, right in front of their loved ones. "

The note continued, "This barbaric attack should stir the conscience of humanity. This will linger in our minds for a long time. To those who are grieving, displaced, mourning, and living in fear, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I’m profoundly distressed by this. "
