Priyanka Chopra solidified her legacy in the history of beauty pageants by being crowned the Millennial Miss World in 2000. At the age of 18, she transitioned from modeling to acting, subsequently launching a prosperous film career. In a recent interview, her mother, Madhu Chopra, disclosed that Priyanka declined to wear a two-piece swimsuit during the pageant.

In a conversation with Lehren Retro regarding Priyanka's involvement in Miss World 2000, Madhu reminisced, "The previous year (1999), Yukta Mookhey had won, so we were aware that our chances were slim. Pradip Guha mentioned, 'It has never happened, but it could happen.' Priyanka was highly motivated."

Madhu further recounted how Priyanka consistently upheld her comfort levels. “Priyanka's behavior and conduct have always been exemplary, regardless of the situation. Even during the swimwear segment of the Miss World pageant, the organizers suggested, ‘Wear a two-piece.’ She firmly responded, ‘No.’ Thus, she preserved her dignity with professionalism, without resorting to tantrums. Consequently, they respected her for taking that stand,” Madhu elaborated.

After finishing as the runner-up in Miss India 2000, where she lost to Lara Dutta, Priyanka represented India at Miss World that same year and emerged victorious. Two years later, she made her film debut in Thamizhan, followed by her Bollywood debut in The Hero. Over the years, she has established herself as one of the most successful and highest-paid female actors in India.

There are rumors regarding her potential collaboration with SS Rajamouli in an upcoming project alongside Mahesh Babu, although no official confirmation has been made. Recently, Priyanka visited India and spent considerable time in Hyderabad, further fueling speculation about her future endeavors.
