Pranchiyettan plot and the kick scene
For the unversed, the 2010 Malayalam film follows the life of Francis aka Pranchiyettan, who is disappointed that he hasn’t been able to make a name for himself despite being a rich businessman. In a bid to get fame and recognition, he attempts to even get hold of the civilian honour of Padmashree.
Despite investing significant sums, his efforts prove to be in vain. He finds himself the subject of ridicule and chooses to isolate himself indoors, steering clear of others. However, a woman knocks on his door, and when he asks for her identity, she responds with "Padmashree." Assuming that someone has come to mock him, Pranchiyettan opens the door and delivers a kick, causing her to fall to the ground, unconscious. This moment signifies the introduction of PriyaMani’s character, who subsequently forms a connection with Pranchiyettan following the initial misunderstanding.
