The anticipation for the second installment of Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan is steadily increasing, with its teaser showcasing unprecedented visuals for a Malayalam film. Following the pan-Indian success of Marco, the film's simultaneous release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi further heightens expectations.

While the 2019 film Lucifer did not make a significant impact outside the South Indian film industry, the sequel is anticipated to perform much better, even with its release coinciding with Salman Khan’s Sikandar at the Bollywood box office..

Prithviraj would cast Shah Rukh Khan in Lucifer remake

In the Telugu film industry, the remake titled Godfather, featuring both Chiranjeevi and Salman Khan, has generated considerable interest. In a recent interview with Filmibeat, Prithviraj was asked about his preferred choice for the role of Stephen Nedumpally, also known as Khureshi Ab’raam, should a Bollywood remake of Lucifer be produced. He expressed his admiration for Amitabh Bachchan but indicated that Shah Rukh Khan would be his ideal choice for the lead role in the Hindi adaptation.

Additionally, L2: Empuraan is set to engage Hindi-speaking audiences, as the director revealed that approximately 20-25 minutes of the film's opening will feature Hindi dialogues. This approach will be consistent across all language versions of L2: Empuraan, which is scheduled for release on March 27. The actor explained that contemporary audiences have evolved, and it would seem unusual for characters in sequences involving MI:6 to converse in Malayalam. He noted that viewers today enjoy international content, such as the Korean series Squid Game, indicating that there is no necessity to localize the language for the audience.
