Unni Mukundan's film Marco transcended linguistic barriers and achieved remarkable success in various regions of the country, including Hindi-speaking areas. This action thriller, recognized as one of the most intense offerings from Malayalam cinema, continues to generate discussion even more than two months post-release.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, while promoting his film L2: Empuraan, also commented on the extraordinary success of Marco, highlighting how the film not only benefited from but also enhanced the overall appreciation for Malayalam cinema.

In a promotional interview for L2: Empuraan, featuring Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran expressed his enthusiasm for Unni Mukundan's Marco, noting its role in redefining success in the industry.

"I am truly delighted for Unni, Haneef, and the entire team. It is a film that has been crafted with great intelligence. They established certain expectations regarding the movie and fulfilled them exceptionally well. I am genuinely pleased for Unni and Haneef on their achievement," he remarked.

The Lucifer director commented on the significance of Marco's achievements, stating that such success positively influences the entire industry.

He noted, "In Malayalam cinema, the success of one individual is not contingent upon the failure of another," and emphasized that Marco has likely gained from the overall favourable sentiment surrounding Malayalam cinema in recent years.

"I am confident that Marco has benefited from the current appreciation for Malayalam cinema. With Marco's success, it will create advantages for all other films," he remarked.
