Pramod Shetty, who has recently transitioned from a supporting role to that of a leading actor, is preparing for the upcoming release of his film, Shabhaash Baddi Magane. Directed by Rajasekhar, this film features Pramod once again in a police role, following closely on the heels of his previous project, Laughing Buddha. Nevertheless, the actor emphasizes that his portrayal in Shabhaash Baddi Magane significantly differs from that in Laughing Buddha. In this new film, Pramod embodies a police officer characterized by an extreme level of laziness.

Shabhaash Badi Magane: Tale of a lazy, but brilliant officer

In a brief conversation with Power TV during the trailer launch of "Shabhaash Baddi Magane," scheduled for theatrical release on February 28, Pramod remarked, “I have portrayed police officers on multiple occasions and have been turning down offers that involve conventional police roles. There must be a unique element, and 'Shabhaash Baddi Magane' provides that. In this film, he is characterized as the laziest individual in the town. The essence of the story lies in how he manages to solve a case despite his profound laziness,” stated the actor.

The charm of the character, as Pramod explains, lies in the contrast between his outward appearance and his true nature. To the casual observer, he may seem like a lethargic and unambitious officer; however, he possesses considerable intelligence. “My character finds contentment in idleness, and being newly married, he chooses to spend time at home with his wife rather than at his post. Yet, unbeknownst to those around him, his intellect is keen, alert, and constantly searching for hints to unravel a mystery,” he remarks.

As the film's theatrical release approaches within a matter of days, Pramod notes that the non-theatrical rights, particularly for satellite and digital distribution, have yet to be sold. Efforts have been made to engage with various platforms in pursuit of securing a deal. Additionally, the film has been dubbed into multiple languages. Nevertheless, the actor maintains a strong conviction that filmmakers should not depend on income generated from OTT or satellite platforms, emphasizing that the theatrical release should remain the central priority.
