Poonam Pandey posted images of herself enjoying a dip in the Ganga during the Maha Kumbh. This significant event attracts millions of devotees who come to bathe in the sacred Ganga as part of the Shahi Snan ritual. The actress shared a series of photographs that depict her experience at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Poonam Pandey donned a black printed shirt adorned with the image of ‘Mahakal,’ accompanied by the chant ‘Jai Mahakal’ and the ‘Om’ symbol throughout the fabric. Mahakal represents one of the manifestations of Lord Shiva. Following her ritual dip, she performed Suryanamaskar.

Additionally, she shared photographs of another devotee applying haldi and sandalwood paste on her forehead, a sacred ritual intended to invoke divine blessings.

Pandey also posted videos showcasing the crowd, emphasizing the spiritual importance of the Shahi Snan, as thousands of devotees gathered at the holy river Ganga, eager to partake in the auspicious bathing ceremony. She appeared to immerse herself in the extraordinary atmosphere, capturing footage of the devotees and the vastness of the event, while embracing the spiritual energy of the Mahakumbh.

In addition to the Shahi Snan, she relished boat rides, fed birds, observed the esteemed evening aartis at the ghats, and danced alongside fellow devotees to honour the sacred essence of the festival.

Poonam shares condolences for the stampede tragedy

The crowd swelled dramatically, resulting in a stampede that caused numerous injuries and, tragically, claimed some lives. In the aftermath of this calamity, Poonam offered prayers for the souls of the deceased, wishing them peace and the attainment of moksha.

In her caption, Poonam captured the essence of the entire event—ranging from the profound devotion and steadfast faith to the sorrowful tragedy. She expressed, “Mahakumbh… Experiencing life in its raw form, where a 70-year-old traverses barefoot for hours, where faith knows no bounds. My heart aches for those who perished, and I hope they achieve moksha. The level of devotion here has rendered me speechless…”.
