Actor Pooja Hegde has been active in the entertainment industry for ten years, collaborating with prominent figures in Indian cinema such as Salman Khan, Prabhas, and Shahid Kapoor. One might assume that after achieving considerable success, she would no longer need to audition, but that is not the case.

In a recent interview with The Times of India, Hegde revealed that she auditioned for a Tamil film but was turned down due to her age. "I recently auditioned for a Tamil film and was rejected because they believed I was too young for the role, opting for an older candidate instead. However, I remain open to auditions and do not shy away from them," she stated.

Auditions help Pooja show her versatility

The 34-year-old actress expressed her preference for being contacted directly for auditions instead of others making assumptions about her suitability for a role. She elaborated that this approach allows her to demonstrate her acting abilities and convince the creators that she is capable of portraying any character effectively.

'You can't let your ego interfere'

The star of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan affirmed her willingness to work diligently and embrace challenges. She stated, “One must not allow their ego to hinder their artistry. Numerous individuals do not have the chance to be invited for auditions, so when such an opportunity presents itself, it should be seized. In the West, even some of the most prominent stars continue to audition, so why shouldn't that be the case here?”

On the work front

Pooja is set to appear next in the romantic action film Retro alongside Suriya, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Additionally, she will feature in Jana Nayagan with Vijay, marking her second project with the actor following their work in Beast. Furthermore, Pooja will share the screen with Varun Dhawan in the film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
