Filmmaker Payal Kapadia has achieved another significant milestone with her film All We Imagine As Light, having been awarded the Best Director Award by the National Society of Film Critics. Other notable films, such as Nickel Boys and A Real Pain, also garnered prestigious accolades. The NSFC, which consists of over 60 critics, votes on various categories including best picture, director, actor, actress, and cinematography.
Nickel Boys was recognized with the Best Picture award, while Anora and All We Imagine Is Light were named as runners-up. Colman Domingo received the Best Actor award for his performance in Sing Sing, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste was awarded Best Actress for her role in Hard Truths. Recently, the film was honoured as the Best International Film by the New York Film Critics Circle and also received an award in the same category at the Gotham Awards.
