Filmmaker Payal Kapadia was at the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. This year, India has a shot at recognition since Payal's film All We Imagine As Light received two important nominations.

A bunch of photos and videos of Payal striking a pose on the red carpet popped up on social media. For the occasion, she rocked a black and red ensemble. Payal paired it with some black earrings and styled her hair in a messy bun. She flashed a big smile while posing for the cameras.

All We Imagine As Light's names

The awards ceremony is a big deal for India, especially with All We Imagine As Light getting nods for Best Director for Payal and Best Motion Picture in a Non-English Language. Payal's got some stiff competition in the Best Director category, going up against well-known directors like Jacques Audiard (Emilia Perez), Sean Baker (Anora), and Edward Berger (Conclave).

In the Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language category, All We Imagine As Light will be up against other standout films like Emilia Perez, The Girl with the Needle, I'm Still Here, and The Seed of the Sacred Fig. It’s going to be a night celebrating the top talent in film and TV, with Netflix leading the pack in nominations for both.

The ceremony is set to be an exciting night, with comedian Nikki Glaser making history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes on her own. This year's awards will showcase a dazzling lineup of presenters, featuring international icons such as Andrew Garfield, Anya Taylor-Joy, Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Jeff Goldblum, Jennifer Coolidge, Michelle Yeoh, Seth Rogen, Viola Davis, and plenty of others.

Payal: Everything We Picture as Light

Payal has really caught the eye of global audiences with her captivating storytelling. Last May, All We Imagine As Light made history by being the first Indian film to snag the Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival. The movie features Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, and Chhaya Kadam.

The story revolves around Prabha, a nurse who gets an unexpected surprise from her long-lost husband, turning her world upside down. Meanwhile, her younger roommate, Anu, struggles to find a private place in the bustling city to spend time with her boyfriend. One day, the two nurses hit the road to a beach town with their friend Parvati, where a magical forest becomes a backdrop for their dreams to come alive.
