All We Imagine As Light received a nomination for Best Motion Picture in a Non-English Language category. The other contenders included Emilia Pérez, The Girl with the Needle, I’m Still Here, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, and Vermiglio.
Fan reactions
In response to the nominations, Anil Kapoor expressed his excitement on Twitter, stating, "All We Imagine as Light has received 2 Golden Globe nominations - Best Direction & Best Foreign Film! India takes great pride!”
The Malayalam-Hindi film centres on Prabha (Kani Kusruti), a nurse in Mumbai whose life becomes chaotic after receiving a rice cooker from her estranged husband. Divya Prabha portrays Anu, her roommate and colleague, who is seeking a private place in the city to spend time with her boyfriend. Prabha’s close friend Parvati (Chhaya Kadam), a widow, faces eviction from her home due to property developers.
This film is an official co-production between India and France, involving Petit Chaos from France and Chalk & Cheese and Another Birth from India. It was awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
