Mark Shankar Pavanovich, the son of actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, sustained injuries in a school fire that occurred in Singapore last week. Both the actor and his son have since returned to India. After her son's recovery, Anna Lezhneva, the actor's wife, conducted a head tonsuring ceremony at the Tirumala temple.

Pawan Kalyan's wife donates hair at Sri Venkateswara Temple

On April 14, Anna visited the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala, where she engaged in prayer and offered her hair as a gesture of devotion. This act took place at Padmavati Kalyana Katta, a designated area within the Tirumala temple where individuals fulfill their religious vows by donating their hair. After the tonsuring ceremony, Anna was observed taking part in further pujas and temple rituals.

What happened to Pawan Kalyan's son

On April 8, a fire erupted at a shophouse located on River Valley Road in Singapore. Among those injured were Pawan's eight-year-old son, Mark Shankar, who suffered injuries to his hands and legs and faced respiratory issues due to smoke inhalation. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and firefighters promptly arrived to extinguish the flames.

At the time of the incident, Pawan, an actor and politician, was engaged in an official tour in the Alluri Sitarama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh, where he was interacting with local communities. After completing his obligations, he hurried to Singapore to be by his son's side, accompanied by Chiranjeevi.

Subsequently, Pawan stated his son's condition, which included, "Our youngest son, Mark Shankar, was injured in a school fire in Singapore and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. He is on the path to recovery." He expressed gratitude to the politicians and actors who extended their well-wishes for Mark’s healing, as well as to those who conducted poojas at temples in his honor.

Chiranjeevi also provided a health update, announcing that Mark has returned home. He posted on X, “Our baby Mark Shankar is back home. However, he still requires time to recover. With the blessings of our clan deity, Anjaneya Swamy, he will soon regain his full health and return to normalcy. Tomorrow marks Hanuman Jayanti, and we are grateful that the Lord protected our child from significant danger and tragedy.”

He further stated, “In the aftermath of the incident, individuals from various regions and villages united in support of our family, offering prayers and blessings for Mark Shankar’s recovery. On behalf of my brother Pawan Kalyan and our entire family, I sincerely thank every one of you for your unwavering support.”
