Actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, has reported that his younger son, Mark Shankar Pavanovich, sustained injuries in a school fire in Singapore on Tuesday. According to a press release from his team, Mark has been moved from the emergency unit but will continue to receive care for his burns and smoke inhalation.

The press release issued on Wednesday states, “Mark Shankar, the younger son of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan, is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Singapore. Shri Pawan Kalyan traveled from Hyderabad to Singapore last night and went straight to the hospital. He visited Mark, who was being treated in the emergency unit for burns on his hands and legs, as well as smoke inhalation affecting his lungs.”

Pawan Kalyan consulted with the medical staff and conveyed to his team that Mark is on the path to recovery, with additional tests being conducted to monitor any potential health complications from the smoke inhalation. “He was moved to a regular room from the emergency unit on Wednesday morning, according to Indian time. The hospital staff has indicated that he will require further tests and will need to remain under observation for at least three more days.”

Pawan Kalyan’s statement on his son’s injuries

On Tuesday evening, Pawan released a statement expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for their inquiries about Mark’s health. He also acknowledged the support from various celebrities who reached out with messages of encouragement. “Mark Shankar is steadily improving thanks to these kind wishes and blessings. I am truly grateful to everyone,” he stated.

At the time of the incident, Pawan was on an official visit in the Alluri Sitarama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh. A fire erupted on April 8 at a shophouse located on River Valley Road in Singapore, injuring both children and adults, including Pawan’s eight-year-old son, Mark. Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha accompanied Pawan to Singapore to be with Mark during this time.
