The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, who is also an actor, visited the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Kadapa, where he addressed a recent incident involving an attack on a mandal parishad development officer. In a video shared by TV5, he appeared noticeably frustrated when fans or members of the press inquired about topics related to cinema, including the legal issues faced by his nephew, Allu Arjun.
Pawan Kalyan on Allu Arjun’s issue
Pawan was addressing inquiries from the press regarding the alleged incident that occurred in Kadapa. However, when a journalist directed a question concerning Arjun, he responded, “That is not pertinent. I am discussing the loss of lives here, and you are inquiring about cinema. Please, have a broader perspective.”
When the media continued to press for information due to Arjun being a family member, Pawan, who was preparing to depart, turned back and stated, “Let your discussions extend beyond cinema; I am being straightforward. We should focus on the injustices occurring in our state. Cinema is a trivial matter in comparison.” To public knowledge, Pawan has not met with his nephew since the incident.
Arjun was taken into custody on December 13 following a tragic event where a woman lost her life in a stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Additionally, a young boy was hospitalized in critical condition due to the chaos. Arjun has since been released on interim bail granted by the High Court.
Regrettably for him, fans gathered at the scene while he was conversing with the press about the attack. As they began to chant ‘OG’ repeatedly, Pawan interjected, visibly upset, and gestured at them, saying, “What is wrong with you people? Do you not understand which slogans are appropriate in this context? Please step aside.”
Upcoming work
Pawan approved several film projects before he campaigned for the Andhra Pradesh elections, but he has not yet completed them. Following his appointment as Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, his schedule has become increasingly demanding, leading him to travel extensively to rural regions within the state.
Recently, he filmed several scenes for the historical action-adventure Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyothi Krishna. Additionally, he is collaborating with director Sujeeth, known for Saaho, on a project titled They Call Him OG. Furthermore, he has agreed to participate in Harish Shankar’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which is the Telugu adaptation of Theri.
