Pawan shared an update on his son Mark's health on Tuesday evening. He mentioned, “Our youngest son, Mark Shankar, suffered injuries in a school fire in Singapore and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. He is slowly getting better.”

The actor-politician also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to him after hearing the news to check on Mark's condition, which he found encouraging. The High Commissioner was instructed to offer support in Singapore, and CM Chandrababu Naidu also called to express his concern.

Pawan expressed his gratitude to everyone, including fellow politicians and actors, who sent their well wishes for Mark's recovery and those who held prayers at temples on his behalf. He concluded with, “Mark Shankar is making progress thanks to all the kind wishes and blessings. I truly appreciate everyone’s support.”

What went down?

On April 8, a fire erupted at a shophouse on River Valley Road in Singapore, injuring several people, including Pawan’s eight-year-old son, Mark Shankar. He suffered injuries to his hands and legs and faced respiratory issues from smoke inhalation. Firefighters, along with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), quickly arrived to extinguish the flames.

At the time of the fire, Pawan was on an official visit in the Alluri Sitarama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh, where he was engaging with local communities. After completing his commitments there, he headed to Singapore. Unfortunately, this incident led to the cancellation of his other scheduled events in Visakhapatnam.

Pawan has two children, Mark Shankar and Polena Anjana Pawanova, with his wife, Russian actress Anna Lezhneva. He also has two other kids, Akira Nandan and Aadhya, with actress Renu Desai.
