The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, who is also a prominent actor, has addressed the recent stampede incident related to Pushpa 2, which resulted in the arrest of Allu Arjun on December 13. Following this, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks, leading to his release from custody on December 14. According to a report by NDTV, Pawan Kalyan expressed his views during a press conference in Mangalagiri.

What Pawan said

Pawan stated, “The law applies equally to everyone, and I do not hold the police accountable in such situations, as they prioritize public safety. However, the theater personnel should have alerted Allu Arjun about any potential issues beforehand. Once he was seated, they ought to have instructed him to leave if necessary. It would have been more considerate for someone to visit the family of the victim earlier on behalf of Allu Arjun. The death of Revathi in this incident has profoundly affected me. They have transformed an already tragic situation into an even greater calamity.”

'Everyone should have gone to Revathi's house…'

He further remarked, “We should have expressed our support for the family sooner. There ought to have been an acknowledgment of regret for the error, even if it was not directly their fault. This situation reflects a significant lack of compassion. Everyone should have visited Revathi's home to extend their condolences and support. The public's anger arises from the absence of such gestures. Allu Arjun, too, is pained by the knowledge that a life was lost due to this incident. It is unjust to place the entire blame on him. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has responded appropriately to the events following the stampede. Decisions are often influenced by the circumstances at hand. In the past, even Chiranjeevi would watch films with his fans, or he would don a mask to attend screenings alone.”

A 35-year-old woman, Revathi, tragically lost her life, and her eight-year-old son sustained injuries on December 4 during a chaotic scene at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where fans surged to catch a glimpse of the actor at the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule.

On Friday, Allu Arjun made a virtual appearance before a local court. Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan announced on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday that the bail hearing has been rescheduled to January 3.
