Actor Paul Rudd has been confirmed to reprise his role as Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the announcement of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday by Marvel Studios. Shortly after this revelation, Paul appeared on The Tonight Show, where host Jimmy Fallon questioned him about his comeback, which prompted a subtle jab at US President Donald Trump and his administration's recent blunders regarding military secrets.

Paul Rudd on Avengers Doomsday

Fallon began by inquiring of Paul Rudd regarding his introduction in the lineup with a miniature director's chair, contrasting it with the standard-sized chairs used by other cast members. Rudd responded, "I found that amusing. 'Yes, I'm Ant-Man.' However, I can't help but feel somewhat diminished by having a small chair. At least it’s finally one that accommodates me when I sit down."

When the host pressed him for insights about the film, Rudd stated, "I can't share anything. They are extremely secretive. It's crucial. As we know, they never disclose any information. This is a significant film. One must treat this matter with seriousness. It’s not akin to military secrets or anything of that nature. This is a major motion picture." When Fallon remarked that 'this is not something you share in a group chat,' Rudd humorously added, "Indeed, this is not like a coordinated attack somewhere."

The mention of a coordinated attack and group chat alluded to Signalgate, a significant scandal in the United States where a journalist from The Atlantic was inadvertently included in a Signal group chat discussing U.S. attack strategies for Yemen. Following the exposure of the incident, the Trump administration asserted that the plans were not 'confidential.' Subsequently, The Atlantic published all the messages.
