Malayalam actress Parvathy Thiruvothu has had an exceptional year, featuring in films like Thangalaan and Ullozhukku, demonstrating that the medium is secondary to delivering outstanding performances. At the third edition of the OTTplay Awards 2025, held in Mumbai on March 22, she received the Best Actor (Female) (Critics) award.

This marks Parvathy's inaugural win at the OTTplay Awards, with her performance in the ZEE5 anthology Manorathangal earning her this accolade. She portrayed the lead character, Sudha, in Shyamaprasad’s segment Kaazhcha, which was inspired by the renowned short stories of MT Vasudevan Nair.

The award was presented to Parvathy by Zafar Sawant and Ramesh Taurani during a ceremony hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait. Making a stunning entrance reminiscent of a butterfly, Parvathy expressed her joy, stating, "It is so wonderful to be here. I was just listening to Anupam sir share his experiences and reflecting on how we connect with our colleagues at these events. Even in this brief time, I am still captivated by the gaze of a director. Sudha is a character I will always cherish. It is my aspiration to continue collaborating with directors who see me and guide me throughout my journey."

This event marked Parvathy’s seventh project in the OTT landscape. She is among the few actors who have successfully navigated various film industries since the rise of OTT platforms, having appeared in the Telugu web series Dhootha, the Hindi film Kadak Singh, the Tamil anthology Navarasa, as well as her Malayalam direct-to-OTT films Puzhu, Wonder Women, and Her.

The OTTplay Awards 2025 attracted numerous prominent figures from the Indian OTT industry, celebrating the theme "One Nation, One Award." Notable attendees included Kajol, Manoj Bajpayee, and Anupam Kher, alongside celebrities from the Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada film industries.
