Parineeti Chopra was initially set to star in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's hit film, Animal. The film was first announced with Ranbir Kapoor and Parineeti as the main leads. But then, Parineeti decided to step away from the project, and Rashmika Mandanna took over her role as Gitanjali. Parineeti Chopra discusses her choice of Amar Singh Chamkila over Animal.

On Aap Ki Adalat, Parineeti opened up about her decision to go with Amar Singh Chamkila instead of Animal. She said, "Honestly, I believe God had something better in store for me. I was all set for that film, and everything was falling into place. But then, I got the offer for Chamkila on the same dates."

The actress shared that she received numerous song offers and had the opportunity to sing tracks by AR Rahman. She referred to Imtiaz Ali as her "dream director." "I had so many options, but I decided to go with Chamkila. The love, support, recognition, respect, and nominations I received from Chamkila make me feel like I made the right choice. I have no regrets and I'm really happy," Chopra said.

Raghav Chadha, who is Parineeti's husband, also mentioned that they were able to spend more time together while she was in Punjab filming for Amar Singh Chamkila. "When Parineeti came back to India, she headed straight to Punjab for the shoot. We kept meeting up, and our relationship just got stronger. Initially, we had to meet in secret, away from the public eye," Raghav reminisced.
