Paresh Rawal has recently gained attention for his remarks regarding Ranveer Singh's approach to 'method acting' in the film Padmaavat. In a previous interview, the actor known for his role in Hera Pheri expressed his disapproval of the extreme measures some actors take to embody their characters. He specifically referenced Ranveer's portrayal of Alauddin Khilji, noting that the actor admitted to the character lingering with him long after filming had concluded. Rawal criticized this mindset during his conversation with Siddharth Kannan, stating that it is disheartening and indicative of a flawed methodology. He remarked, "Let me ask you, no matter how much you drink, you still end up sleeping on your mother's or wife's bed. That is the essence of reality, isn't it?"

It is incorrect to suggest that I became overly involved in my role, leading to extreme actions such as harming others," the veteran actor remarked at that time. He raised concerns about the lengths to which actors go to embody their characters, often becoming so engrossed that they lose the ability to separate fiction from reality.

Regarding Padmaavat and the controversies it has encountered throughout the years

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat faced interruptions to its theatrical release on three occasions during its production phase. These delays were primarily due to a rumored scene featuring Khilji, the film's antagonist, engaging in a romantic dream sequence with Rani Padmavati. Ultimately, this scene was excluded from the final version of the film.

In earlier discussions, the character of Khilji was often portrayed in a glamorous light, while Shahid Kapoor, who portrayed the lead role of Maharawal Ratan Singh, received little recognition. The actor subtly alluded to the project by commenting on exaggerated performances and his lack of acknowledgment.

Recently, Kangana Ranaut addressed the film, revealing that she had been offered the role of Padmavati but declined it, as she did not wish to be seen merely as a character focused on appearance. Observers quickly pointed out that the female lead's portrayal primarily revolves around dressing elegantly and maintaining an attractive appearance.

"Padmaavat" narrates the tale of Padmavati, who chooses to embrace sati rather than become a victim of Khilji, who is captivated by her beauty and seizes Chittor to gain dominion over her. The film was re-released in theaters over a month ago but did not achieve the anticipated success.
