Pamela Anderson recounted a frightening experience she had with a fellow traveler on a flight. During her appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on Tuesday, the 57-year-old shared the story with host Josh Horowitz. She revealed that a passenger mistook her for a member of the country group The Chicks and attempted to attack her. The Baywatch icon confessed that this incident really shook her up and made her anxious about flying.

A Hollywood veteran shared a crazy experience while chatting about her new movie, The Last Showgirl. “So, there was this one time I was on a flight, and this guy approached me and asked, ‘Do you know what this country’s done for you?’” Anderson recounted.

She mentioned that she had no idea what he was talking about, but thankfully, a flight attendant stepped in as he got aggressive. “I was like, ‘Oh my God. What did I do?’ I turned around and saw he was really mad,” Anderson remembered.

“Then the stewardess had to actually handcuff him to his seat because he was trying to come at me,” she continued. The actress then revealed that the guy had confused her with a member of the Dixie Chicks.

“Yeah, he thought I was one of the Dixie Chicks. Remember that whole Dixie Chick drama?” Anderson said, referencing the band’s controversial stance against the U.S. invasion of Iraq back in 2003.

At that time, lead singer Natalie Maines had expressed during a concert that the band, which originated in Dallas, didn’t support the war and felt “ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas.”

Anderson admitted that after that scary incident, she developed a fear of flying. “I almost got killed on a plane,” she said, adding, “I was a bit scared to fly after that.”
