Palash Sen Hits Back at Diljit Dosanjh: Calls Concert Infrastructure Criticism ‘Unfair’

Euphoria's lead vocalist, Palash Sen, has responded to singer Diljit Dosanjh's recent comments regarding the concert infrastructure in India. During a performance in Chandigarh last year, Dosanjh expressed his reluctance to hold more concerts in India until improvements are made to the infrastructure for live events. In a conversation with a media outlet, Palash described this statement as "truly unfair" towards a nation that has contributed to his rise as a superstar.

Palash reflects on Euphoria's live performances

Palash stated, "Euphoria has been conducting live concerts since 1998. We were among the pioneers in this field, and the concert landscape has evolved significantly since then. We have actively participated in that evolution, so it is easy to criticize from abroad. One must engage in the process of change."

Palash critiques Diljit's remarks

"It is indeed unfair. I have great admiration for Diljit Dosanjh as an artist. However, his comments were unjust. The country that has elevated you to stardom deserves better. It is essential to express gratitude. It is quite simple to cast blame. All event organizers put in tremendous effort. While there is always room for improvement and certain deficiencies exist, we must collaborate to address these issues. One cannot merely sit back and blame the authorities," he further elaborated.

What Diljit had said on concert infrastructure

During his concert in Chandigarh, Diljit remarked in Punjabi, "We lack the necessary infrastructure for live performances here. This represents a significant source of revenue and creates numerous job opportunities. I will endeavor to position the stage centrally in the future so that the audience can surround it. Until this is realized, I will refrain from performing in India, without a doubt."

Diljit denied making such comment

Diljit later refuted this statement. He subsequently shared a note on social media indicating that his comments had been misconstrued, although he removed it shortly thereafter. He had also re-shared a tweet stating, “BIG NEWS: Diljit Dosanjh announces he won't do shows in India due to poor concert infrastructure.”

Diljit clarified, “Nope... I mentioned that the issue was with the venue in Chandigarh. So, until I find an appropriate venue, I will not plan my next show in Chandigarh. That’s all there is to it."
