Actor Ajith Kumar, who is still riding high after his victory at the Dubai 24H racing event earlier this month, has yet another reason to celebrate. He has been conferred with the esteemed Padma Bhushan Award.

Padma Awards 2025 Announced

The Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian honours in the country, were announced on Saturday. These prestigious awards are presented in three categories: Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri, recognizing excellence in various fields such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, and civil service.

Ajith Kumar has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan, the nation's third-highest civilian award, by the Government of India for his remarkable contribution to the field of art.

He will receive the award from President Droupadi Murmu at a formal ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi later this year.

This year, 19 distinguished individuals have been conferred with the Padma Bhushan, with the awards announced annually on Republic Day.

Ajith Kumar, who recently won the 24H Dubai 2025 endurance race with his team, Racing by Bas Koeten, is also gearing up for two movie releases—Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly. While Vidaamuyarchi was initially slated for a Pongal release, its date has been postponed, with no new date set yet. Good Bad Ugly is set to hit theatres on April 10. Additionally, there's a buzz around future collaborations, as director Lokesh Kanagaraj has shown interest in working with him.
