Oscar-shortlisted short film Anuja, helmed by director Adam J Graves, is set to be available for streaming on Netflix. The film has been produced by Suchitra Mattai, Adam's spouse. This live-action project boasts support from notable figures including Priyanka Chopra, Mindy Kaling, and Academy Award winner Guneet Monga.

The film has been selected as a contender for a nomination in the Best Live Action Short Film category at the 97th Academy Awards. It features performances by Ananya Shanbhag as Palak, Sajda Pathan as Anuja, and Nagesh Bhosle as Mr. Verma. Anuja narrates an uplifting story of two sisters who endeavour to discover happiness and opportunities in a society that seeks to exploit and marginalize them.

On Wednesday morning, Priyanka took to her Instagram Stories to express her reaction to the news. She shared a post from Variety and commented, “Proud of this beautiful film (red heart emoji).”

About Anuja
The narrative revolves around a nine-year-old protagonist who toils in a clandestine garment factory alongside her elder sister, Palak. The storyline tracks the young girl's journey as she confronts a pivotal choice that will affect her future and that of her family. Adam J Graves characterized the film as "a poignant homage to the strength and unspoken experiences of child labourers."
