This impactful film about resilience has garnered international acclaim but hasn't quite reached Indian viewers yet. Directed by Adam J. Graves and produced by Suchitra Mattai, Anuja shares the uplifting tale of two sisters who seek joy and opportunities in a world that often tries to exploit and exclude them. The good news is, it’s now available for streaming in India.
Anuja Discovers a New Streaming Spot on Netflix
Anuja has been nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Live Action Short Film category, showcasing the common challenges that young girls face globally. The film boasts a stellar lineup of producers, including Suchitra Mattai, Mindy Kaling, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Krushan Naik, Aaron Kopp, Devananda Graves, Michael Graves, Ksheetij Saini, and Alexandra Blaney. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Anita Bhatia take on the role of executive producers.
The co-executive producers are Archana Jain, Susan MacLaury, and Albie Hecht. With a strong foundation in research, the film was made in partnership with various community organizations, such as Mira Nair's Salaam Baalak Trust, which aims to empower street and working children. The lead actress, Sajda Pathan, is a beneficiary of this Trust.
