Olivia Munn recently disclosed that she was offered a sum in the “seven figures” range to remain silent about a “traumatic” experience she encountered while filming an undisclosed project. During her appearance on Monica Lewinsky’s Reclaiming podcast on Tuesday, the 44-year-old actress shared that she declined a lucrative proposal from a studio to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) following her negative treatment on set.

Munn candidly discussed her refusal of the studio's substantial NDA offer after experiencing a distressing incident on set. “There were other personal matters that occurred during this film production that were quite unacceptable, and it was so traumatic that I felt compelled to file complaints with the studio, along with several other related issues,” Munn explained to Lewinsky.

While she refrained from naming the studio or the specific project, the Buddy Games star continued, “It reached a point where I was presented with a significant financial offer.”

“A significant financial offer. Seven figures to accept, I suppose, their apology and acknowledgement of the situation,” she elaborated.

However, this substantial offer was contingent upon signing an NDA. “But it was accompanied by an NDA,” Munn stated, clarifying that she had no intention of publicly discussing the incident.

“Not that I would ever truly disclose it, as I wished to move beyond it,” the Iron Man 2 actress remarked, adding, “That’s why I prefer not to discuss the specific details of what transpired in that situation.”

Reflecting on her choice to refuse, Munn recounted, “I said, ‘I’m not signing an NDA,’ and they insisted, ‘You must,’ which felt fundamentally wrong to me.”

The Newsroom actress expressed her concern that the studio might “leak information that [she] had accepted money in exchange for signing an NDA” in an attempt to undermine her voice.
