Sunny Kaushal, a prominent figure in Hindi cinema known for his roles in various acclaimed films and series, showcased his talent by winning the Best Actor in a Negative Role award at the third edition of the OTTplay Awards, which took place in Mumbai on March 22.

His remarkable portrayal in Netflix's romantic thriller, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, earned him this prestigious accolade. For the younger Kaushal brother, this achievement signifies a significant milestone as he takes on a complex antagonist role in the sequel to Haseen Dillruba. This year marks his inaugural win at the OTTplay Awards.

In the film, Sunny plays Abhimanyu Dinesh Pandit, a physician with a multifaceted character that captivates the audience. He is one of the central figures in a tumultuous love triangle alongside the talented Vikrant Massey and Taapsee Pannu.

Sunny Kaushal has established himself as a well-known personality in the OTT landscape, consistently entertaining viewers through a variety of films and series. His notable performances include The Forgotten Army - Azaadi Ke Liye (Prime Video), Shiddat (JioHotstar), Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga (Netflix), and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba (Netflix).

Upon receiving the award from Abhilash Thapiyal during the ceremony, Sunny expressed his gratitude, stating, “Thank you OTTplay for the award. It means so much. I don't like negativity, but this is truly special. I have never portrayed a deranged character before, which was quite daunting. This award would not hold significance without the support of the cast, crew, and audience.”

The OTTplay Awards 2025, themed “One Nation, One Award,” was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait. The event also honored notable figures such as Manoj Bajpayee, Kajol, and Priya Mani, attracting a distinguished audience from the Indian OTT industry.

The glamorous OTTplay Awards event brought together leading artists from various Indian cinema sectors, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, all dressed to impress for the occasion.
