The discussion surrounding nepotism in the industry remains a contentious issue. In a recent interview with News18, Nushrratt Bharuccha expressed her views on the challenges faced by outsiders, noting that although children of established stars may have an advantage in securing more opportunities, they also endure significant pressure and ongoing comparisons.

Recognizing the challenges faced by children of celebrities, Nushrratt expressed, “I maintain a well-rounded perspective on this matter. It is not accurate to say they lack responsibilities or pressures. Had my parents been well-known, I would likely feel considerable stress today. Currently, I have no fears; I have nothing to lose and do not bear the weight of maintaining a legacy. Those who are part of the film industry have their own set of pressures, expectations, and roles to fulfill. Certainly, they enjoy more opportunities than I do, but that is understandable. A doctor's daughter would naturally have an advantage if she chooses to pursue the same profession, just as a businessman’s son would have a similar edge in his field.”

She went on to emphasize the importance of talent and shared her perspective on being an outsider in the industry. “The audience has the power to reject. If they do not resonate with someone, they will not accept them. Take actors like Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor as examples—talent is undeniable. Ultimately, talent is what truly counts. While being an outsider presents certain disadvantages, it also offers unique advantages. I consider myself a realistic individual; I do not dwell in illusions or harbor feelings of resentment. I do not feel bitterness over someone else landing a role that I did not,” she remarked.

She recounted instances where she was told, "you don't look right on a poster," and mentioned that others have been cast simply due to their larger follower count.
