7 days ago | 5 Views
Selena Gomez recently expressed her steadfast support for her dear friend Taylor Swift, sharing a humorous anecdote involving her fiancé, Benny Blanco. The singer of "Rare" and Blanco fondly recalled the occasion when they arrived a bit too early to one of Swift's after-parties.
Gomez discusses their overly punctual arrival at Swift’s gathering
On March 19, during an episode of Spotify Countdown To Series, Gomez shared, “As a couple, we attended Taylor’s party following an awards show,” humorously noting that their early arrival left her feeling “mortified.” She added, “I don’t know, it was kind of cute. Apparently, cool people don’t arrive at parties on time.” The founder of Rare Beauty then mentioned that being early has become a habit for the couple, stating, “We’re the first ones at every single party when I go with you,” as reported by E! Online.
Despite feeling embarrassed about their premature arrival at the after-party, Gomez's strong friendship with Swift remains intact. The singer of "Lover" has consistently demonstrated her support, publicly congratulating the couple on their engagement last December and sweetly confirming her role as the flower girl at their upcoming wedding.
Gomez shares about the early days of her romance with Blanco
In the episode, Gomez recounted the early days of her relationship with Blanco, highlighting how they gradually became at ease with one another in their shared home in California. She remarked, “We kept our…whatever it was—relationship or getting to know each other—in privacy. And [our home] is where we first started connecting, where we had our first kiss, and where we made the album.”
The engaged couple, who are set to release their collaborative album I Said I Love You First on March 21, reflected on the distinctive experience of creating the record together. Benny expressed that working in their home studio added a special touch to the process, enabling them to bond creatively while enjoying the comfort of their surroundings. He also mentioned that this environment allowed Gomez to express herself more freely, with her vulnerability shining through in the poignant lyrics of the forthcoming album.
He stated, “I felt like your personal journal. I was constantly writing down whatever you said, wherever we were. I don’t know if you realized, but I would always open up my phone and think, ‘Wow, that’s such a great line for a song.’”
