Angelina Jolie recently revealed that none of her children have any interest in pursuing acting. Her 18-year-old daughter, Shiloh, reportedly has a strong aversion to it.

“I always wanted them to be involved in film because I believed it would be a wonderful environment for creativity and artistry. However, they are simply not interested,” Jolie stated during a panel discussion at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“They really dislike the celebrity aspect of it, particularly Shiloh, who finds it quite distasteful. It’s not a typical lifestyle; it’s rather absurd, to be honest.”

Jolie has six children with her former partner, Brad Pitt: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. The couple finalized their divorce in December 2024 after a lengthy eight-year legal dispute. Currently, they are engaged in a conflict regarding a winery they co-owned.

Jolie's kids shy away from acting

While her children may not be inclined towards acting, Jolie mentioned, “Some of them enjoy dancing, painting, and theater, but none are particularly eager to appear on screen.”

Nevertheless, some of Jolie's children have participated in behind-the-scenes roles in her projects. For instance, her eldest sons, Maddox and Pax, both took on assistant director roles in the film Maria, with Pax also contributing to the photography.

“It’s beneficial for them to gain work experience,” Jolie remarked at the film festival. “They have to be versatile and assist everyone. They have been involved in several films in this capacity.”

Her daughter Vivienne also played a significant role in the Broadway production of The Outsiders, where she was quite assertive in her assistance. “She would correct me, reminding me of our responsibilities. She has been a very diligent assistant,” Jolie recalled.

Jolie has previously described her children as “particularly shy and very private individuals,” emphasizing their desire for privacy.
