Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has been married to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan since 2007. The couple is blessed with a lovely daughter Aaradhya, who was born in 2011. Rumours of their divorce recently resurfaced on social media. Amid this speculation, it was reported that Abhishek had finally broken his silence over rumours of divorce with Aishwarya. However, there is no truth to it. Abhishek's statement is from an old interview and it has been mistaken as his fresh statement.

The truth is that Abhishek Bachchan made the statement in 2016. He spoke to the media a few days after attending Aishwarya's film Sarbjit's premiere in 2016. At an event, a reporter asked Abhishek if things were not well between him and Aishwarya, based on their public appearances around 8 years ago. Here's the old video, featuring Abhishek's statement.

To this, the Bollywood actor said, "I don't have to say anything to you all about that. I think, you all have blown the entire thing out of proportion, sadly. But I understand why you do it. You all have to file some stories. It’s okay, we’re celebrities, we have to take it. Still married, sorry." He even showed his wedding ring while answering the questions.

Abhishek and Aishwarya's divorce rumours resurface

For the uninitiated, Abhishek and Aishwarya's divorce rumours spread like wildfire (again) on social media. It happened after the actress and her husband arrived separately at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding festivities. While Aishwarya made an appearance with daughter Aaradhya, Abhishek arrived with his parents Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda and her family.
