Actor Nivin Pauly addressed an event in Nilambur, Kerala, where he reflected on the difficult times he has encountered recently and expressed gratitude to those who supported him. According to Manorama, the actor discussed the rape allegations from which he was exonerated in 2024 during the Gokulam Night event.

Nivin Pauly on ‘difficult period’

Nivin addressed the audience at Gokulam Night, an event held during the Pattutsavam in Nilambur. The actor touched upon the legal challenges he has recently encountered, though he refrained from providing extensive details.

He reportedly remarked, “The recent matters concerning me are widely recognized. Following those challenges, I chose to refrain from attending public gatherings. (Producer Gokulam) Gopalan Chettan has consistently been a mentor and elder figure in my life. Therefore, when he reached out to me, I felt compelled to come here.”

Nivin expressed his gratitude to those who supported him, stating, “During my trying times, it was the people who stood by my side. I have not had the opportunity to express my thanks, and this platform serves that purpose. I am committed to returning with quality films this year, and I trust that the support and affection will persist.”

Nivin Pauly gets clean chit in rape case

In September 2024, a 40-year-old woman lodged a complaint with the police against six individuals, including Nivin, claiming that they had assaulted her in Dubai. An officer from the Oonnukal police station, where the First Information Report (FIR) was filed under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), informed PTI that the case involves six accused parties, one of whom is a woman.

In November, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) from the Kerala Police reported, “We examined his (Nivin's) emigration records, credit card transactions, and other travel information. The evidence did not support the allegations, leading us to remove his name from the list of accused.”

Following the emergence of the allegations, Nivin conducted a press conference to refute all claims. After being exonerated, he expressed, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported me. Thank you for all the love, prayers, and encouragement.”

Recent work

Nivin is poised to collaborate with Gopalan for the second occasion following their previous project, the 2018 film Kayamkulam Kochunni. Additionally, he is scheduled to appear in Dear Students, Shekhara Varma Rajavu, a sequel to Action Hero Biju, as well as the Tamil film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai. Furthermore, Nivin will make his debut in the OTT space with the Disney+ Hotstar web series titled Pharma.
