A few years ago, Nitish Kumar Reddy had a strong desire to take a photograph with cricketer Virat Kohli at an event, but he found it difficult to approach him due to stringent security measures. In a recent discussion on Puma's YouTube Channel, Nitish recounted his experience at the Naman Under-16 awards, where he attempted to capture a proper photo with Virat, who attended the event alongside his wife, Anushka Sharma.

What Nitish said

Reflecting on that event, Nitish shared, “I was 16 at the time and really wanted a proper photo with him [Virat Kohli], but I couldn't resist the urge to take a picture. He was seated directly behind me, and I didn’t have my own phone. I borrowed my uncle's phone, and while he was with me, I discreetly took a selfie from the background without wanting him to notice.”

When Anushka stepped in

What transpired next? Nitish continued, “I was eager to get a good picture with him, but there were bodyguards around, and it was during his peak time, making it hard for anyone to approach him. At that moment, Anushka Sharma noticed my struggle and approached me, saying, ‘Come, I will help you get a picture.’ It was a wonderful moment that I never anticipated.”

He mentioned that since that day, he has not discussed the incident with either Virat or Anushka. However, his sister Tejaswi informed Anushka about the photograph and even shared it with her.

Last year, Nitish achieved his first international century against Australia during the Boxing Day Test. Anushka was seen posing with Nitish's family, which included his father, Mutyala, and his sister. “A lovely moment,” Mutyala captioned the photo. Anushka was in Australia with her two children, Vamika and Akaay.
