Nishvika Naidu on Her Career Strategy: "Chasing Opportunities with Confidence"

27 days ago | 5 Views

Nishvika Naidu has been part of the Kannada film industry for six years now. She kicked off her career with a bang, starring in three consecutive films: Amma I Love You, Vaasu Naan Pakka Commercial, and Padde Huli. However, things have slowed down for her since then. That's why she mentioned that at this point in her career, it's all about finding the right opportunities. During a chat with RJ Rashmi on the podcast Just Curious, she shared her thoughts on how crucial it is to have the right platform to display one’s talents.

Nishvika: You can have all the talent and hard work in the world, but if you don’t get the chance, it doesn’t matter

I'm not really after money or fame; I'm all about finding opportunities. There's no secret recipe for success. Over the years in this industry, I've learned that being talented or hardworking doesn't mean much if you don't have the chance to showcase it. Landing those opportunities can be tough, and I'm not alone in this—many others are also striving to make their mark in the film world. "I just need to grab those chances; once I do, I know how to make the most of them," she shares.

Take Nishvika, for example. Even though she's a trained classical dancer, she never had the chance to display her talent on screen until filmmaker Yogaraj Bhat invited her to perform a special song in Garadi. She saw this as her moment to prove to everyone that she's an amazing dancer. The song, Hodirale Halagi, she believes, opened the door for her to land the lively dance number Hithalakka in Karataka Damanaka, which has earned her a lot of praise. "Hodirale Halagi was more than just a song for me; it was a chance, and how I used it was entirely up to me," she reflects.

Nishvika mentions that in the past, she would never reach out for work, especially from people she knows in the industry. “If I were to ask someone to think of me for a specific role, it creates pressure on them, and they might feel obligated to help me out. But if I mess it up later, it would let down the person who took a chance on me,” the actress explains. Nowadays, she realizes that asking isn’t a bad thing, but she also knows she has to be ready for the possibility of rejection.
