Sanya Malhotra and Nishant Dahiya's film "Mrs." has garnered significant attention following its release on OTT platforms. Directed by Arati Kadav, the movie debuted in February on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. In this Hindi adaptation of "The Great Indian Kitchen," Nishant portrays Diwakar, the husband of Sanya's character, Richa. In a recent interview with News18, Dahiya elaborated on his portrayal of Diwakar, emphasizing that he does not perceive the character as inherently 'bad.'

In discussing his approach to characters with darker attributes, Nishant stated, "I never felt Diwakar was a bad person. He’s simply someone who is unaware. His actions seem normal to him due to his conditioning. He does not recognize that he is in the wrong. In his perspective, he is the good guy."

During the same interview, Nishant disclosed that he was initially reluctant to accept the role of Diwakar after watching "The Great Indian Kitchen" (the original Malayalam film), as he found the husband's character unlikable. He considered Diwakar to be the most challenging of the morally ambiguous roles he has undertaken. However, director Arati encouraged him to reconsider.

"Although I was initially resolute about not taking the role, I came to understand that this film could provoke thought and initiate discussions. That realization led me to ultimately accept the role," he shared with the entertainment outlet.

Regarding the audience's reception of "Mrs.," Nishant expressed his appreciation, noting that many women connected with the film and found it impactful. "It’s remarkable to see how the film mirrors societal issues. We had extensive discussions about this during the filming," he remarked. He also mentioned that he, Arati, and Sanya frequently contemplated the audience's response following the film's release.
